Gila County Planning and Zoning Commission Appointment

Background Information

Mr. Jim Muhr resigned from the Gila County Planning and Zoning Commission on July 13, 2022. A vacancy now exists for the unexpired term of office that ends on December 31, 2024.

Evaluation

A vacancy exists on the Planning and Zoning Commission of which the member represents Supervisor Christensen's district. Supervisor Christensen would like to recommend that Mr. Cody Crisp be appointed by the Board of Supervisors to fulfill Mr. Muhr's unexpired term of office.

Conclusion

Arizona Revised Statute § 11-802 states, "...Three members shall be appointed from each supervisorial district by the supervisor from that district, and not more than 1 of the 3 may be a resident of an incorporated municipality." The Board of Supervisors needs to appoint Mr. Crisp to fulfill Mr. Muhr's unexpired term of office for the term beginning on September 6, 2022, through December 31, 2024.

Recommendation

Supervisor Christensen recommends the appointment of Mr. Crisp to the Planning and Zoning Commission for the term of office that ends on December 31, 2024.

Suggested Motion

Approval to appoint Mr. Cody Crisp to the Gila County Planning and Zoning Commission representing Supervisor Christensen's district to fulfill Jim Muhr's unexpired term of office that ends on December 31, 2024.
