Authorize the request to advertise for Request for Qualifications No. 08032022 - Design Build for Gila County Fairgrounds Restroom Facility

Background Information

Improvements are ongoing at the Gila County Fairgrounds. The second portable arena is in process of being constructed and already there are entities who have expressed an interest in using the new facilities for organized events. The current situation is to rent portable toilets when there are scheduled events at the fairgrounds. As we upgrade the fairgrounds facilities a permanent restroom facility is planned to be located near the two arenas further enhancing the capabilities of the Gila County Fairgrounds. Design-build firms will be invited to provide their statement of qualifications to enable County staff to select the firm that provides the best overall value to the County for the restroom project. The anticipated cost for the restroom project is $300,000 and ARPA funds will be used to complete the project.

Evaluation

Staff recommends approving the request to advertise for a design-build firm for the fairgrounds restroom project.

Conclusion

A permanent restroom facility will enhance the overall capabilities to hold larger-scale events and better utilize the fairgrounds facilities.
