Approval of Funding Agreement No. 100-23 For Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Aid relief (CDBG-CV) Between Arizona Department of Housing and Gila County as a pass thru for G.I.L.A. House Inc. Transitional Shelter facility Acquisition, with Designation for Deposit of Grant Funds and Authorized Signature Card Documents.
Background Information
Funding Agreement No. 100-23 will provide $650,000 for the period of July 01, 2022, to July 31, 2023, to be used for Emergency and Transitional Housing, Administered by Gila County for G.I.L.A. House Inc. for Transitional Shelter Acquisition.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program was started with the Housing and Community development Act of 1974 where the Department of Housing and Urban Development was to distribute funds to communities for projects that would develop viable communities, provide decent housing, and suitable living environments and expand economic opportunities. Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) has received Community Development Block Grant CV dollars that can be used for Emergency and Transitional Housing.
Evaluation
Funding Agreement No. 100-23 between Gila County for G.I.L.A. House Inc. Transitional Shelter Facility Acquisition and the Arizona Department of Housing for $650,000 in CDBG-CV funds. This funding agreement will be for the period of July 1, 2022, through July 31, 2023. The Designation of Deposit of Grant funds (F-1), Authorized Signature Card for Request for Payment on CDBG-CV Account (F-2), and Authorized Signature Card for all Administrative Actions Pertaining to CDBG-CV funding Agreements forms will allow for payments to be mailed to Gila county, and allow employees to perform payment requests and/or other actions related to this Funding agreement.
Conclusion
Funding Agreement No. 100-23 will provide $650,000 of CDBG-CV Funding for Emergency and Transitional Housing. Gila County Community Services will be overseeing the fiscal and reporting requirements for G.I.L.A. House Inc. Transitional Shelter Facility. This will provide transitional housing for those affected by this pandemic, helping to alleviate homelessness in our Community.
Recommendation
It is the recommendation of the Gila County Community Services Department Director that the Gila County Board of Supervisors approves Funding Agreement No. 100-23 and the supporting documents (F-1, F-2, and the Authorized Signature Card for all Administrative Actions pertaining to CDBG-CV Funding Agreements).

Information/Discussion/Action to approve Funding Agreement No. 100-23 between Gila County for G.I.L.A. House Inc. Transitional Shelter Facility and the Arizona Department of Housing to receive CDBG-CV Grant funds in the amount of $650,000 for the period of July 1, 2022, through July 31, 2023, for the proposed Transitional Housing Project in Gila County.
