Approval of Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 052421-Sub-Grantee for COVID-19 School Wraparound Support Services.
Background Information
On June 1, 2021, the Gila County Board of Supervisors approved Contract No. 052421-Sub-Grantee for COVID-19 School Wraparound Support Services. The original contract was executed for a not to exceed without written authorization amount of $828,927.
Evaluation
Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 052421 extends the term of the contract for one additional year, from August 1, 2022. to May 31, 2023; decreases the original contract amount by $378,927; and adds to the contract language: Certification of No Forced Labor: The Company does not currently, and agrees for the duration of this Agreement that the Company will not use:

1. The forced labor of Ethnic Uyghurs in the People’s Republic of China.

2. Any goods or services produced by the forced labor of Ethnic Uyghurs in the People’s Republic of China.

3. Any contractors, subcontracts, or suppliers that use the forced labor or any goods or services produced by the forced labor of Ethnic Uyghurs in the People’s Republic of China.

The Company further agrees that if the Company becomes aware, during the term of the Agreement, that the Company is not in compliance with this Certification, the Company shall notify the County within 5 business days after becoming aware of the non-compliance. If the Company does not remedy the non-compliance within 180-days after sending notice of non-compliance, this Agreement shall automatically terminate.
Conclusion
The Health and Emergency Management Department Director wishes to execute Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 052421-Sub-Grantee for COVID-19 School Wraparound Support Services to extend the term of the contract for one additional year, to May 31, 2023;decreasing the original contract amount by $378,927; and adds to the contract language: Certification of No Forced Labor.
Recommendation
The Health and Emergency Management Director recommends approving Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 052421-Sub-Grantee for COVID-19 School Wraparound Support Services to extend the term of the contract for one additional year, to May 31, 2023; decrease the original contract amount by $378,927; and adds to the contract language: Certification of No Forced Labor.
