Authorization to advertise Request for Proposals No. 062922-Weatherization Materials and Services.

Background Information

The Gila County Community Services Department is soliciting bids for weatherization materials and services in order to meet federal regulations.

Federal regulations for a Request for Proposals will be:

The Gila County Community Services Weatherization Program is a government entity that operates and administers a weatherization program in Gila County. The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Weatherization Assistance Program reduces energy costs for low-income households by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. The Program prioritizes services to the elderly, people with disabilities, and families with children. Gila County's program has procured and has agency professionally trained weatherization crews who use computerized energy audits and advanced diagnostic equipment to determine the most cost-effective measures appropriate for each home. Typical measures may include installing insulation; sealing ducts; tuning and repairing heating and cooling systems; mitigating air infiltration; and reducing electric base load consumption.

Evaluation

The Community Services Department Director would like to establish a contract with a contractor to provide weatherization materials and services.

With the Board's approval, a notice of Request for Proposal No. 062922 will be advertised in the Arizona Silver Belt on July 27, 2022, and August 3, 2022, with a bid due date of August 19, 2022.

Conclusion

By issuing Request for Proposal No. 062922 for weatherization and materials, the competitive bidding process will be utilized to enter into a contract for services.

Recommendation

The Community Services Department Director recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve the Request for Proposals No. 062922-Whetherization Materials and Services.
