Liquor License Application for an Owner Transfer to Angela Maria Blanco for a Series 7 Beer and Wine Bar license at Rye Country Store in Rye.

Background Information

Angela Maria Blanco has obtained a Series 10 Beer and Wine Store license prior from the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control and has recently purchased a secondary Series 7 bar license that would be stacked with the series 10 (which is permitted by the DLLC) to serve on the premises.

Angela Maria Blanco submitted an Application to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control (DLLC) regarding a Series 7 bar license at Rye Country Store located at 200 N. Gisela Road in Rye.

ACQUISITION OF CONTROL – This is the person who owns the business where the liquor license is located.

AGENT – The assigned agent is essentially the contact person for both the state and the county. The agent MUST reside in the County where the liquor license is located and must be a U.S. Citizen.

Evaluation

The application has been reviewed by the Clerk of the Board. The statute outlines the governing body's responsibility, as follows: "The local governing body of the city, town, or county may protest the acquisition of control within 60 days (of the date the application was submitted to the DLLC) on the capability, reliability, and qualification of the person acquiring control." Gila County does not do a background check on liquor license applicants due to time and manpower; therefore, the only information that would be provided to the Board is from someone protesting the application. The Clerk of the Board has not received any objection to this application.

Conclusion

The application has been reviewed by the Clerk of the Board and all paperwork was submitted in accordance with DLLC requirements. The Clerk of the Board has not received any comments, positive or negative, regarding this acquisition of control and agent change for the liquor license located at Rye Country Store.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors issue an approval recommendation to the DLLC for this application.

Approval of recommendation to be submitted to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control regarding the Owner Transfer of Angela Maria Blanco for a Series 7 Beer and Wine Bar license at Rye Country Store, located at 200 N. Gisela Road, Rye, Arizona.
