Approval of Amendment No. 2 to Professional Services Contract No. 060820 with Law Offices of Anna Ortiz.

Background Information

On July 7, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved Professional Services Contract No. 060820 with the Law Offices of Anna Ortiz, whereby the Law Offices of Anna Ortiz provided legal services for indigent citizens as appointed by the Superior Court in Gila County for the period beginning July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021. The contract provides a renewal option for up to three additional one-year periods. The original contract was executed for a not to exceed without written authorization amount of $72,000.

On June 15, 2021, the Board of Supervisors approved Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Contract No. 060820 with Anna Ortiz to extend the term of the contract for one additional year to June 30, 2022, for the same not to exceed the amount of $72,000.

Evaluation

Amendment No. 2 to Professional Services Contract No. 060820 extends the term of the contract for one additional year to June 30, 2023; and increases the contract amount by $12,000 for this contract for a not to exceed contract amount of $84,000.

Conclusion

Court Administration wishes to execute Amendment No. 2 to Professional Services Contract No. 060820 with the Law Offices of Anna Ortiz to extend the term of the contract for one additional year to June 30, 2023; and increase the contract amount by $12,000 for this contract term for a not to exceed the amount of $84,000.

Recommendation

The Court Administrator for the Superior Court in Gila County recommends approving Amendment No. 2 to Professional Services Contract No. 060820 with the Law Offices of Anna Ortiz to extend the term of the contract for one additional year to June 30, 2023; and increase the contract amount by $12,000 for a not to exceed without written authorization amount of $84,000.
