Approval of Amendment No. 2 to Professional Services Contract No. 060420 with the Law Office of David W. Bell for the Superior Court.

Background Information

On July 7, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved Professional Services Contract No. 060420 with the Law Offices of David W. Bell, whereby Mr. Bell provided legal services for indigent citizens as appointed by the Superior Court in Gila County for the period beginning July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021. The contract provides a renewal option for three additional one-year periods. The original contract was executed for a not to exceed without written authorization amount of $36,000.

On June 15, 2021, the Board approved Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Contract No. 060420 to extend the term of the contract for one additional year to June 30, 2022, for a contract amount not to exceed $36,000.

Evaluation

Amendment No. 2 to Professional Services Contract No. 060420 with the Law Offices of David W. Bell extends the term of the contract for one additional year, from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023.

Conclusion

Court Administration wishes to execute Amendment No. 2 to Professional Services Contract No. 060420 with the Law Offices of David W. Bell to extend the term of the contract for one additional year to June 30, 2023.

Recommendation

The Court Administrator for the Superior Court in Gila County recommends approving Amendment No. 2 to Professional Services Contract No. 060420 with the Law Offices of David W. Bell to extend the term of the contract for one additional year to June 30, 2023, for a not to exceed contract amount of $36,000.
