Approval of Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 090121-1 with McSpadden Ford

Background Information

The advertisement of an Invitation for Bids to purchase one (1) new 2022 Ford F150 XL, 4x4, SuperCrew cab, 6.5 foot bed was approved by the Board of Supervisors on September 21, 2021. McSpadden Ford was the lowest responding bidder of three bidders. The Board awarded a contract to McSpadden Ford on November 2, 2021, as Contract No. 090121-1.

Evaluation

The vehicle mentioned in the agenda request will be needed in the fleet in the coming year for Facilities Management's use. This vehicle would replace the vehicle (B-094). The manufacturer is having trouble obtaining enough parts to complete the build in our contract time frame.

Conclusion

The vehicle manufacturer, Ford, could not give a definite date for completion and delivery to the dealer. Staff believes the supplies could be delayed according to information obtained on the web. The contract should be extended to December 31, 2022.

Recommendation

The Public Works Department Director recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve Amendment No. 1 to extend Contract No. 090121-1 for the purchase of one (1) new 2022 Ford F150 XL, 4x4, SuperCrew cab until December 31, 2022.

Suggested Motion

Approval of Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 090121-1 with McSpadden Ford to extend the contract to December 31, 2022, for the purchase of one, new 2022 Ford F150 XL, 4x4, SuperCrew cab pickup truck.
