Approval of Amendment No. 2 to Intergovernmental Agreement No. 07012020 with the Town of Payson to provide common administration for the Payson Municipal and Payson Regional Justice Courts.

Background Information

On July 7, 2020, Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) No. 07012020 was entered to operate the Magistrate Court administration. The Board of Supervisors approved Amendment No. 1 to renew the IGA for an additional one-year term on November 2, 2021. The attached Amendment will renew the IGA for an additional term, from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023.

Evaluation

Renewing the IGA is in the mutual best interest of both entities.

Conclusion

The amendment to the IGA will provide consolidated administration and operation of limited jurisdiction courts for an additional one-year term.

Recommendation

Staff recommends approval of Amendment No. 2 to IGA No. 07012020 to extend the term of the IGA regarding consolidated administration and operation of limited jurisdiction courts.

Suggested Motion

Approval of Amendment No. 2 to Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) No. 07012020 with the Town of Payson for consolidated administration and operation of Limited Jurisdiction Courts to renew the IGA for one year, from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023.
