Motorola, Inc.-Quote and Purchase Addendum for Purchase and Implementation of the Sheriff's Office Body Worn Program.
Background Information
The Gila County Finance Department submitted on July 12, 2021, the Small, Rural and Tribal Body-Worn Camera Grant Application to the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Program, Bureau of Justice Assistance. The Sheriff's Office and Finance Department were informed that the grant had been approved by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Justice and Security Strategies at the end of December 2021, and began training for reporting and policy review in January.

On April 5, 2022, the Gila County Board of Supervisors approved the submittal of a Small, Rural and Tribal Body-Worn Camera Grant Application and accepted the grant award in the amount of $102,000; and approved the match requirement of $102,000 from the County's General Fund.
Evaluation
The Sheriff's Office received Quote# WLK-0385-03 from Motorola Solutions on 02-24-2022. The quote is for a five-year Body-Worn Camera Program. The Program includes hardware and software needed to provide 85 cameras and the associated docking stations, software, implementation, and training in the amount of $229,686. This module is compatible with the Sheriff's Office existing Spillman software, which is currently being used. U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Program, Bureau of Justice Assistance grant award in the amount of $102,000; Gila County general fund match requirement of $102,000; and the balance of $25,686 will come from the Gila County Sheriff's Office Patrol General Fund to complete the project.
Conclusion
The Sheriff's Office will utilize Quote No. WLK-0385-03 from Motorola Solutions, Inc. to purchase body-worn cameras for the total project cost of $229,686. U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Program, Bureau of Justice Assistance grant award in the amount of $102,000; Gila County General Fund match requirement of $102,000; and Gila County Sheriff's Office Patrol General Funds amount of $25,686 will be utilized as the funding sources for this purchase.
Recommendation
Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve Quote No. WLK-0385-03, to purchase and implement the Sheriff's Office Body-Worn Camera Program in the amount of $229,686.
