Background Information

On July 7, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved Professional Services Contract No. 050820 with the Law Offices of Stephen Jones, whereby the Law Offices of Stephen Jones provides legal services for indigent citizens as appointed by the Superior Court in Gila County for the period beginning July 10, 2020 to June 30, 2021. The original contract was executed for a not to exceed without written authorization amount of $75,600.

Evaluation

Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Contract No. 050820 with Law Offices of Stephen Jones extends the term of the contract for one additional year, from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022; and increases the contract amount by $4,400 for a new total contract amount not to exceed $80,000.

Conclusion

Court Administration wishes to execute Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Contract No. 050820 with the Law Offices of Stephen Jones to extend the term of the contract for one additional year, from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022; and to increase the contract amount by $4,400 for a new total contract amount not to exceed $80,000.

Recommendation

The Court Administrator for the Superior Court in Gila County recommends approving Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Contract No. 050820 with the Law Offices of Stephen Jones to extend the term of the contract for one additional year, from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022; and to increase the contract amount by $4,400 for a new total contract amount not to exceed $80,000.
