Approval of Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) No. 012621 with the Town of Miami

Background Information

Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) No. 012621 was presented to the Board of Supervisors on April 20, 2021. At that time staff pointed out that paragraph G – Automatic Renewal of the IGA was not correct. The language needed to be changed to state that the IGA is being initially approved for one year and it includes the option to renew the IGA for three additional one-year periods by mutual agreement of both parties. The Board approved IGA No. 012621 contingent upon paragraph G being revised as suggested by staff. After the Board meeting, the Town of Miami staff was notified of this required revision to the IGA. A revised IGA NO. 012621 was sent to the Miami Town Council for approval.

Evaluation

To ensure that there is a record of the correct IGA between Gila County and the Town of Miami regarding maintenance of Mackey Camp Road, it is being presented to the Board to authorize the Chairman’s signature on the IGA.

Conclusion

Signing the IGA will allow the Town and the County to maintain the road on an annual basis once all easements are acquired.

Recommendation

Authorization for the Chairman of the Board to sign revised Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) No. 012621 between Gila County and the Town of Miami regarding maintenance of Mackey Camp Road for one year with the option to renew the IGA for three one-year periods.

Suggested Motion

Authorization for the Chairman to sign corrected Intergovernmental Agreement No. 012621 with the Town of Miami for the maintenance of Mackey Camp Road for one year effective after both parties have signed the Agreement and with up to three additional one-year extensions by mutual agreement of the parties.
