Request/Subject

New proposed Public Works Department Policy No. PWS-013 – “Cash Handling and Reporting.”

Background Information

The Recycling and Landfill Management Division under the Public Works Department has a process in place that employees use when handling and reporting cash taken in at both Russell Gulch and Buckhead Mesa landfills.

Evaluation

While there is a process in place, there was never a policy created for this process for approval by the Board of Supervisors.

Conclusion

The proposed policy will reinforce the process in place and will aid in training new employees in the process of handling and reporting cash received at the landfills. This policy may also be used as a reference for those not working in the scale house on a regular basis.

Recommendation

The Gila County Public Works Department recommends approval of the proposed Public Works Department Policy No. PWS-013 “Cash Handling and Reporting.”
