Advertisement of Request for Proposals No. 050420 - Pharmacy Services for Gila County Detention Medical

Background Information

The Gila County Sheriff's Office medical unit provides medical services for those individuals incarcerated in Gila County at the Globe and Payson facilities. The medical units are comprised of a physician, physician's assistant, two (2) registered nurses and three (3) medical assistants. When needed and at the direction of the licensed physician the medical staff is required to provide prescription and over-the-counter medication.

Evaluation

The Gila County Sheriff's Office would like to establish a contract with a pharmacy to provide prescription and over-the-counter medications to streamline the process for purchasing and ordering medication.

With the Board's approval, a notice of Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 050420 will be advertised in the Arizona Silver Belt on June 10, 2020, and June 17, 2020, with a due date of July 1, 2020.

Conclusion

By issuing RFP No. 050420 for pharmacy services for Gila County Detention Medical services, the competitive bidding process will be utilized to enter into a contract for these services.

Recommendation

Staff recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve the request to advertise Request for Proposals No. 050420-Pharmacy Services for Gila County Detention Medical for the Gila County Detention Center.
