Collection Agreement between Arizona Game and Fish and the Gila County Sheriff's Office.

Background Information

On December 8, 2021, the Gila County Sheriff's Office electronically sent a letter requesting assistance from the Arizona Game and Fish to purchase an Inmar 470R-PT to replace the current one. The current Rigid Hull inflatable boat is over twenty years old, has a transom that is rotting out and the motor is leaking oil. Arizona Game and Fish sent the Collection Agreement to the Gila County Sheriff's Office on February 25, 2022, approving the funds in the amount of $ 24,991.

On April 5, 2022, the Board of Supervisors approved the Collection Agreement, the Sheriff's Office was notified by Arizona Game and Fish that the attorneys had additional edits needed which have required us to bring it back before the board.

Evaluation

The Arizona Game and Fish Department will provide funding in the amount of $24,991 to replace the current 20-year-old Rigid Hull inflatable boat. The sole purpose of these funds is to enhance recreational boating safety law enforcement activities.

Conclusion

The Arizona Game and Fish Department will provide funding to the Gila County Sheriff's in the amount of $24,991, to purchase (1) Inmar 470R-PT inflatable boat with a 60 HP Suzuki 4-stroke outboard and (1) galvanized trailer.

Recommendation

Gila County Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve the Collection Agreement between the Arizona Game and Fish Department and the Gila County Sheriff's Office in the amount of $24,991, to purchase (1) Inmar 470R-PT inflatable boat and (1) galvanized trailer. The performance period is from the date of the signed agreement through June 30, 2023.
