Request/Subject

Order establishing the Verde Glen Domestic Water Improvement District (DWID).

Background Information

On March 17, 2022, a petition for the establishment of the Verde Glen DWID was received by the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. In accordance with A.R.S. § 48-905, a public hearing was set for the May 17, 2022, Regular Meeting of the Board of Supervisors. Upon conclusion of the public hearing, the Board of Supervisors shall determine whether to establish or not establish the Verde Glen DWID. The Gila County Assessor's Office has verified the validity of the property owners within the proposed Verde Glen DWID.

Evaluation

In accordance with A.R.S. § 48-903, it has been determined that the petition to form the Verde Glen DWID has been signed by a majority of persons owning real property within the boundaries of the proposed district.

Conclusion

In accordance with A.R.S. § 48-906, after consideration by the Gila County Board of Supervisors, an Order to establish the Verde Glen DWID shall be approved or not approved as determined by the Board of Supervisors.

Recommendation

Staff has no recommendation for the Gila County Board of Supervisors in regard to the formation of the Verde Glen DWID.
