Election of a Chairman & Vice-Chairman of the Board of Supervisors

Background Information

On January 5, 2021, the Board of Supervisors elected Supervisor Tim Humphrey as its Chairman and Supervisor Steve Christensen as its Vice-Chairman.

Evaluation

The Board of Supervisors should consider electing a new Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. It would be advantageous if the new Chairman could begin his term of office after the May 3, 2022 Board of Supervisors’ Regular Meeting, because all documents to be signed include Chairman Humphrey’s name as the Chairman.

Conclusion

It is appropriate for the Board of Supervisors to elect a Chairman to begin office immediately after the May 3, 2022 Board of Supervisors' Meeting, which will provide elected offices and County departments ample time to change the Chairman's name on all future documents to be presented to the Board for approval.
