Discussion to add Forest Service Road 202A, portions of Forest Road 202 and Forest Road 54 to Schedule A of the Cooperative Forest Road Agreement.

Background Information

On January 21, 2020, Gila County and the Tonto National Forest entered into a Cooperative Forest Road Agreement to maintain various Forest Service roads as shown on Schedule A of the Agreement. The Agreement allows for Schedule A to be modified by adding or removing roads to the agreement if both parties agree to the modification.

Evaluation

Gila County would like to add Forest Road 202A and a portion of Forest Road 202 Forest Road 54 to the Agreement. This would add approximately 25.2 miles of road to the Gila County Maintained Roadway System.

Conclusion

The roads are eligible to be added to Schedule A.

Recommendation

It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department Director to contact the Tonto National Forest and ask that Forest Road 202A, a portion of Forest Road 202 and a portion of Forest Road 54 be added to the Cooperative Forest Road Agreement.

Information/Discussion/Action to direct staff to contact the Tonto National Forest Program Manager and request that Forest Road 202A, a portion of Forest Road 202, and a portion of Forest Road 54 be added to the Cooperative Forest Road Agreement. (Steve Sanders)
