Request/Subject

Adoption of Resolution No. 23-03-05 Declaring a state of Emergency within Gila County as a result of infrastructure and property damage caused by abnormally heavy rain and winds.

Background Information

On the evening of Tuesday, March 22, 2023, James Menlove, County Manager and Clerk of the Board, requested that an Emergency Meeting of the Board of Supervisors be convened due to abnormally heavy rain and winds resulting in property damage.

Evaluation

The Board members will attend the emergency meeting by phone.

The Board needs to adopt Resolution No. 23-03-05, issuing a Declaration of Emergency to be reimbursed by the state or federal government for expenses related to the declaration.

Conclusion

Per Arizona Revised Statute, a notice and agenda of the Emergency Meeting was published as soon as possible.

Information/Discussion/Action to adopt Resolution No. 23-03-05 issuing a Declaration of Emergency in Gila County as a result of infrastructure and property damage caused by abnormally heavy rain and winds and authorizing the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors to take all further actions as may be necessary or appropriate to implement this Declaration pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute § 26-311.
