Sale of State-Owned Parcel Nos. 206-06-195G, 206-10-078A, & 206-10-078B to Gila County.
Background Information
Assessor's parcel number 206-06-195G was deeded to the State of Arizona by the County Treasurer in 1997 because the previous owner did not pay the property taxes for seven consecutive years. This property is a roadway parcel on S. Long Street in Claypool and is in the county roadway transportation system.

Assessor's parcel number (formally known as lots 5 and 6) 206-10-078A was deeded to the State of Arizona by the County Treasurer in 1940 because the previous owner did not pay the property taxes for seven consecutive years. This property is a parcel of land that is part of a roadway. At an unknown point prior to April 13, 1977 lot 5 was sold to Cities Service Company. Cities Service Company sold lot 5 to Gila County under Real Estate Deed Docket 426 page 256, Gila County Records. Management has determined that purchasing lot 6 will help make a more passable roadway.

Assessor's parcel number (formally known as lot 7) 206-10-078B was deeded to the State of Arizona by the County Treasurer in 1938 because the previous owner did not pay the property taxes for seven consecutive years. This property is a parcel of land that is part of a roadway.

Homero Vela, Public Works Department Director has reviewed all three properties and has determined that Gila County could use them for a public purpose related to transportation and or flood control.
Evaluation
A.R.S. § 42-18303 (E) states, "The board of supervisors may accept an offer from, and sell real property held by this state by tax deed to, the county or a city, town or special taxing district in the county for a public purchase related to transportation or flood control. The board of supervisors shall convey the deed and apportion the monies received in the transaction prescribed by this action."

It is the intent of Gila County to purchase this parcel for a public purpose related to transportation and or flood control.
Conclusion
If the Board of Supervisors approves the sale of these properties to Gila County, the properties will be used for a public purpose related to transportation and or flood control.
Recommendation
The total lien amount on parcel number 206-06-195G is $465.18. The total lien amount for parcel numbers 206-10-078A is $13.33 and the amount for 206-10-078B is unknown. It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors see the subject property to Gila County for $1 for each parcel.
Suggested Motion
Information/Discussion/Action to approve the sale of Assessor's tax parcel numbers 206-06-195G, 206-10-078A, & 206-10-078B to Gila County for $1 for each parcel to be used for a public purpose related to transportation and or flood control pursuant to A.R.S. § 42-18303 (E); and authorize the Chairman's signature on the related Quit Claim Deeds.
