Approval of Amendment No.2 to Funding Agreement No. 213-22 with the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) for the Weatherization Assistance Program.
Background Information
The primary mission of the Gila County Community Services Department, Housing Services, and Weatherization Program is to reduce the fuel or electricity expense for space heating, space cooling, and water heating for income-eligible households while improving the health and safety of the dwelling's occupants. The Weatherization Program enables income-eligible families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy-efficient.

The Board of Supervisors approved Contract No. 213-22, on July 19, 2022.

The Board of Supervisors approved Amendment No.1 to Contract No. 213-22, on December 6, 2022.
Evaluation
Approval of Amendment No. 2 to Funding Agreement No. 213-22 will increase the Department of Energy (DOE) by $56,000 and complete unit requirements to increase to six. Weatherization Readiness Fund (WRF DOE) to increase by $13,125. Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to $200,000. The LIHEAP unit completion requirements have been increased to twenty-four units.
Conclusion
If the Board of Supervisors approves Amendment No. 2 to Funding Agreement No. 213-22 the Gila County Community Services Department, and Housing Services will receive funding to provide weatherization services to eligible citizens residing in Gila County.
Recommendation
The Community Services Department Director recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve Amendment No. 2 to Funding Agreement No. 213-22 for the Gila County Community Services Department, Housing Services, to provide weatherization services to eligible citizens residing in Gila County.
Suggested Motion
Information/Discussion/Action to approve Amendment No. 2 to Funding Agreement No. 213-22 between the Arizona Department of Housing and the Gila County Community Services Department, Housing Services, to provide low-income Home Energy Assistance Program funding for $350,701, to be used to provide weatherization services to eligible citizens residing in Gila County from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, as presented.
