Acceptance of the FFY2022 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) - EMF-2022-EP-00009-S01.
Background Information
The Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) - EMF-2022-EP-00009-S01 is awarded to Gila County from the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs through funding provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The federal government, through the EMPG Program, provides direction, coordination, and guidance, and provides necessary assistance, so that a comprehensive emergency preparedness system exists for all hazards.

As a condition of the award, Gila County is required to contribute a cost match in the amount of $154,000 of non-federal funds, or 50 percent of the total approved project costs of $308,000. EMPG funds may be obligated and expended within the period of performance from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023, and in accordance with the EMPG grant guidelines.

The EMPG is a 50% fund-matching grant. Gila County has been awarded $154,000 and agrees to match $154,000, for a sum of $308,000. The annual award supports department personnel and operational costs.
Evaluation
The EMPG funding will support the efforts of Gila County Emergency Management to coordinate emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities with other public agencies, private organizations, and community volunteers.
Conclusion
The EMPG is a 50% fund-matching grant. The annual award supports department personnel and operational costs for emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities with other public agencies, private organizations, and community volunteers.
