Approval of Amendment No. 1 to Independent Contractor Agreement No. 2021-22 Utility Assistance Programs (Contract No. 07012021-22) with the Arizona Community Action Association d/b/a Wildfire.

Background Information

Amendment No. 1 increases the APS Crisis Bill Assistance funds by $20,320 for a new allocation of 30,870 (Direct Services and Program Delivery).

This contract has been in existence between the Arizona Community Action Association d/b/a Wildfire and the Gila County Community Services Department, Community Action Program (CAP), for the past 13 years.

Contract No. 07012021-22 was approved by the Gila County Board of Supervisors on August 16, 2021, for Fiscal Year 2022 (07/01/2021 to 06/30/2022).

Evaluation

Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 07012021-22 will provide energy program funding from the Arizona Community Action Association d/b/a Wildfire in the amount of $138,910 to the Gila County Community Services Department, CAP, to be used to provide weatherization services, utility repair, and replacement, utility deposits and bill assistance to eligible citizens residing in Gila County.

Conclusion

By the Board of Supervisors approving this Amendment, the Gila County Community Services Department, CAP, will receive funding to provide eligible citizens residing in Gila County with services that promote economic self-sufficiency.

Recommendation

The Gila County Community Services Department Director recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 07012021-22 for the Gila County Community Services Department, CAP, to receive funding to provide weatherization and utility services.

Information/Discussion/Action to approve Amendment No. 1 to the Independent Contractor Agreement (Contract No. 07012021-22) between the Arizona Community Action Association d/b/a Wildfire and the Gila County Community Services Department, Community Action Program, to add $20,320 of APS (Arizona Public Service) Crisis Bill Assistance funds for a total of $30,870 resulting in a new contract amount of $138,910 through June 30, 2022.
