Adopt Resolution No. 22-03-01 Designating S. Mackey Camp Road in Miami AZ. as a Primitive Road.

Background Information

During the June 1, 2021, Board of Supervisors' Regular Meeting, the Board entered into Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) No. 012621 with the Town of Miami to provide maintenance on S. Mackey Camp Road in Miami, AZ. One of the requirements of the IGA was that easements must be granted and accepted by the County prior to any maintenance taking place. Easements from property owners and the Town of Miami have been secured and maintenance can now begin if the Board adopts this resolution. Upon Board approval, staff will record the necessary easements from the property owners.

Evaluation

S. Mackey Camp Road meets the requirements of Gila County Policy No. PWS-001 - Guidelines to Primitive Roads.

Conclusion

Acceptance of the easement and adoption of Resolution No. 22-03-01 will allow Gila County and the Town of Miami to provide maintenance as agreed upon in IGA No. 012621.

Recommendation

The Gila County Public Works Department Director and the County Engineer recommend that the Board adopt Resolution No. 22-03-01 designating S. Mackey Camp Road as a primitive road and accepting the road into the Gila County Maintained Roadway System.

Suggested Motion

Information/Discussion/Action to adopt Resolution No. 22-03-01 accepting S. Mackey Camp Road as a primitive road upon the terms and conditions set forth in Gila County Policy No. PWS-001 and authorizing the execution of the Primitive Road Easement. (Steve Sanders)
