Appointment of additional members to the Census 2020 Complete Count Committee for Gila County
Background Information
On October 16, 2018, the Gila County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 18-10-02, which established a Census 2020 Complete Count Committee for Gila County.  A Complete Count Committee (CCC) is a volunteer committee focused on raising awareness about the 2020 Census and on motivating residents in their communities to fill in and return their Census forms.  A CCC is comprised of a broad spectrum of governmental and community leaders from education, business and other community organizations.  These trusted voices develop and implement a 2020 Census awareness campaign based upon their knowledge of the local community to encourage a response. On December 4, 2018, the Board of Supervisors appointed the initial eleven members to the Gila County Census 2020 CCC with the understanding that additional members would be beneficial to this process.
Evaluation
A CCC is a volunteer committee established by tribal, state and local governments to increase community awareness and motivate residents to respond in a timely and accurate manner.  Gila County created a CCC in 2009, in preparation for the 2010 Census.  CCCs promote awareness and help ensure that every person gets counted in the upcoming 2020 Census.  The members of the CCC shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors.  They will lead throughout Gila County in the promotion of a 2020 Census awareness campaign and will be committed to assuring that every resident is counted. Ideally this committee will be comprised of approximately 20-30 individuals to ensure participation throughout Gila County.
Conclusion
The Board of Supervisors needs to appoint additional members to the 2020 Census CCC for Gila County to promote awareness and help ensure that every person gets counted in the 2020 Census
