Request/Subject

Approval of the Board of Supervisors' participation in the Shop with a Hero 2022 Christmas program.

Background Information

The Shop with a Hero program in Gila County works on behalf of local law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, and dispatchers within our communities to develop strong partnerships and trust through active engagement, education programs, and outreach for children.

Under ARS §11-254, economic development contributions may be made to any governmental agency as long as all monies are utilized for the purpose determined to be public by the Board.

Evaluation

Funds are available. After reviewing the letter from the office of Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd, and asking any necessary questions, the Board may determine if the request is for the benefit of the public and approve the contribution.

Conclusion

Funds are available. After reviewing the Sheriff's letter, and asking any necessary questions, the Board may agree to participate in the Shop with a Hero 2022 program if the Board has determined it to be for the benefit of the public.

Recommendation

After evaluation, the Board may agree to participate in the Shop with a Hero program if the Board has determined the contribution to be for the benefit of the public.

Suggested Motion

Information/Discussion/Action to approve the Board's participation in the Shop with a Hero 2022 program in the amount of $6,000 that the Board has determined to be for the benefit of the public. (Woody Cline)
