Approval of Grant-In-Aid Agreement between the Tohono O'Odham Nation and Gila County on behalf of the Hellsgate Fire District.

Background Information

On October 4, 2022, the Board adopted Resolution No. 22-10-02 in support of a gaming grant application submitted by Hellsgate Fire District to the Tohono O’ Odham Nation in the amount of $25,195.02 to purchase new radio/intercom systems for emergency response vehicles. The Tohono O'Odham Nation awarded the Hellsgate Fire District with the requested funds and now comes before the Board to approve the Grant-In-Aid Agreement to act as the pass-through agency for the funds on behalf of the Hellsgate Fire District.

Evaluation

Approval of the Agreement will allow the Hellsgate Fire District to receive the necessary funds to purchase the equipment for their emergency response vehicles.

Conclusion

It is in the best interest of the Hellsgate Fire District that the Board approve the Grant-In-Aid Agreement with the Tohono O'Odham Nation for funding of the radio/intercom systems for the emergency response vehicles.

Recommendation

Staff recommends approval of the Grant-In-Aid Agreement

Information/Discussion/Action to approve the Grant-In-Aid Agreement between the Tohono O'Odham Nation and Gila County whereby Gila County will act as the pass-through agency to receive the grant funds in the amount of $25,195.02 on behalf of the Hellsgate Fire District to purchase three new radio/intercom systems for emergency response vehicles.
