| Appointment of Board members of the Board of Supervisors to represent the interests of Gila County on boards, committees and organizations for 2023. |
| Background Information |
Each year, members of the Board of Supervisors are provided the opportunity to serve on other boards, committees, and organizations by virtue of their membership on the Board of Supervisors. They are elected/appointed by their peers to represent the interests of Gila County on these boards, committees, and organizations.
On December 1, 2020, the Board unanimously voted to represent the same boards, committees, and organizations in 2021 as they represented in 2020. On December 10, 2020, the Honorable Tommie Cline Martin, District 1 Supervisor, unexpectedly passed away leaving a vacancy on the Board of Supervisors. On January 12, 2021, the Honorable Steve Christensen was appointed as District 1 Supervisor. On January 19, 2021, the Board of Supervisors re-visited the appointments of Board members to represent boards, committees, and organizations for 2021. On December 7, 2021, the Board appointed the Board members to the following boards, committees, and organizations for 2022.

| Evaluation |
| There may be other boards, committees, or organizations that a Board member should be appointed to represent the County's interests. James Menlove, County Manager and Clerk of the Board, has provided a list of proposed 2023 Board member assignments (attached) and he will discuss the list with the Board at the time this agenda item is discussed. |
| Conclusion |
| It is appropriate for the Board of Supervisors to make the appointments to the various boards, committees, and organizations to serve during the 2023 calendar year. |
| Recommendation |
| It is recommended that the Board discuss and appoint Board members to represent the interests of Gila County on various boards, committees, and organizations for 2023. A proposed list of 2023 Board member assignments has been prepared by the County Manager/Clerk of the Board for discussion. |
