Approval of Agreement No. 11042022 Between Gila County and Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) for office space located at 610 E Highway 260 Building in Payson, Az.

Background Information

Over the next several years the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) will be conducting forest restoration projects to protect northern Arizona watersheds such as CC Craigin Reservoir, and protect the forests against catastrophic wildfires. DFFM has requested office space for staff in the Payson area. Gila County has office space available at the 610 E Highway 260 building location that is suitable to their needs and will put their staff close to the restoration projects they are managing.

Evaluation

The agreement between Gila County and DFFM shows the level of commitment to the successful management of the forest restoration projects by providing office space in close proximity to the work being done. The space allows DFFM to meet with the public, contractors, and staff who are engaged in the projects as necessary.

Conclusion

The Agreement for office space is a good partnership between Gila County and DFFM as protected watersheds and forests are in the best interests of the public.

Recommendation

Staff recommends approval of Agreement No. 11042022 with the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management and Gila County for DFFM to occupy office space at the Gila County office building located at 610 E. Highway 260, Payson, Arizona for a term of one year with an option of five additional one-year renewal periods.
