Gila County Planning and Zoning Commission Reappointments

Background Information

The terms of office for the following Planning and Zoning Commission members expire on December 31, 2022: Edward Padilla representing Supervisorial District 1, Bryan Goslin representing Supervisorial District 2, Mickie Nye representing Supervisorial District 3, and Travis Holder representing Supervisorial District 3.

Evaluation

Supervisor Christensen has asked Mr. Padilla to continue serving on the Commission, to which he agreed; Supervisor Humphrey has asked Mr. Goslin to continue serving on the Commission to which he agreed; and Supervisor Cline has asked Mr. Nye and Mr. Holder to continue serving on the Commission, to which they agreed.

Conclusion

Arizona Revised Statute § 11-802 states "...Three members shall be appointed from each supervisory district by the supervisor from that district, and not more than 1 of the 3 may be a resident of an incorporated municipality." The Board of Supervisors needs to vote to reappoint Mr. Padilla, Mr. Goslin, Mr. Nye, and Mr. Holder for a four-year term of office on the Commission which begins on January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2026.

Recommendation

Each Supervisor has been contacted by Mr. Pluimer regarding these reappointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission to represent their respective supervisorial districts on the Commission and each have chosen to have the incumbents continue serving for another four-year term of office.

Suggested Motion

Approval to reappoint the following members to the Gila County Planning and Zoning Commission for the term of office beginning January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2026: Edward Padilla, Bryan Goslin, Mickie Nye, and Travis Holder.
