Award Contract in response to Request for Qualifications No. 08032022 -
Gila County Fairgrounds Restroom Facility Design Build
for restroom facilities for the Gila County Fairgrounds.
Background Information
Improvements are ongoing at the Gila County Fairgrounds. The second portable arena has been completed and new roping events are being planned to use the facilities. As we upgrade the fairgrounds facilities a permanent restroom facility is planned to be located near the two arenas further enhancing the capabilities of the Gila County Fairgrounds. Design-build firms were invited to provide their statement of qualifications to enable County staff to select the firm that provides the best overall value to the County for the restroom project. One responsive and responsible bid was received for the restroom project with a turnkey price of $325,759. The County will be responsible for providing all utilities to the site within six feet of the building so the vendor can make the final connections. American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) funds will be used to complete the project.
Evaluation
Staff recommends acceptance of the proposal for the fairgrounds restroom project.
Conclusion
A permanent restroom facility will enhance the overall capabilities to hold larger-scale events and will better utilize the fairgrounds facilities.
