Approval to use State Contract No. CTR059323 with San Tan Ford LLC for the Purchase of Two (2) New Ford Super Duty XL 4x4 6.2L.

Background Information

Due to time constraints and a short ordering window, the use of Contract CTR059323 from San Tan Partners LLC. would allow The Gila County Buckhead Mesa Recycling & Landfill the ability to purchase Two New Ford Super Duty XL 4x4 6.2L without missing the short order window and would allow the purchase of these new vehicles, during this fiscal year.

One (1) New 2023 F-250’s being outfitted with a snowplow, 85gal L-Shaped Transfer Tank Toolbox Combo with Fill-Rite 15GPM 12v DC Pump & Fill-Rite 800 C Analog meter, hose, & nozzle that would allow the Gila County Recycling and Landfill Management and Buckhead Mesa Landfill the ability to plow the road during winter events at Buckhead Mesa.

One (1) New 2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty XL 4x4 this vehicle will not have special equipment and will be used by Recycling and Landfill Administration.

Evaluation

The vehicles being replaced are B-197 a 2010 Ford 1/2 Ton 4x4 that is 12 years of age and has 120k miles. A trade of B-013 from the Landfill to the Motor Pool. Then B-016 a 2000 Ford Expedition that is 22 years of age and has 130,000 miles will be turned in and prepped for auction. Both B-197 and B-016 are costing the County in maintenance and repairs.

Conclusion

The vehicles that will be purchased with this solicitation will be used by the Gila County Recycling & Landfill Management for Administration and Buckhead Mesa Landfills use and will replace older vehicles that have met one requirement and are close to meeting the other requirements of the Gila County recommended replacement intervals plan.

Use of the specially equipped vehicle at the Buckhead Mesa Landfill will allow staff to plow roads to the facilities during winter events.

Recommendation

The Public Works Department Director recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve Arizona State Contract No. CTR059323 with San Tan Ford LLC for the purchase of Two (2) New 2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty XL 4x4 as outlined in the specifications in the amount of $135,781.26.
