Contract Award in Response to Request for Proposals No. (RFP) 062222-Security for Globe & Payson Courthouse & Tommie C. Martin Complex.

Background Information

On August 2, 2022, the Board of Supervisors authorized the advertisement of Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 062222-.Security for Globe & Payson Courthouse & Tommie C. Martin Complex. The RFP was advertised in the Arizona Silver Belt on August 10, 2022, and August 17, 2022. The bids were due on August 31, 2022. There were two responses. The bid due date was August 31, 2022.

Evaluation

Sealed bids were accepted at the Gila County Finance Department through 3:00 P.M., MST, on August 31, 2022. Receiving competitive bids from two vendors in response to Request for Proposals No. 062222. The bids were opened at 3:00 P.M. on August 31, 2022, and evaluated in accordance with A.R.S. 41-2533, Competitive Bidding.

CBI Security Service met all bid specifications and offered a low bid price of $256,025.

Conclusion

All public and non-County employees are required to enter the Courthouses through the main entrances. The goal of the County is to have two armed guards posted at the main entrances of each of the Payson and Globe Courthouses from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The annual cost to the County will be $256,025. This annual cost reflects the holidays that the County Courthouses will not be open for business and not be billed by CBI Security.

Recommendation

It is the recommendation of the Gila County Facilities Department to award the security contract to CBI Security Services in the amount of $256,025. CBI Security Services is the lowest bidder, in response to RFP No. 062222 – Security for Globe & Payson Courthouse & Tommie C. Martin Complex, to provide security manpower for the safety of the public and employees in the Gila County Courthouses for a period of 12 months, with 3 one-year renewal options.

Suggested Motion

Information/Discussion/Action to review all bids submitted for Request for Proposals No. 062222-Security for Globe & Payson Courthouse & Tommie C. Martin Complex; award to the lowest, most responsive, responsible, and qualified bidder; and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the award contract. (Joseph Dickison)
