Governor's Office of Highway Safety FY2019 DUI/Impaired Enforcement Overtime Contract No. 2019-405d-015.
Background Information
On March 1, 2018, the Gila County Sheriff's Office electronically submitted the FY2019 Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) DUI/Impaired Driving Overtime Grant Application. On March 20, 2018, the Board of Supervisor's authorized the Sheriff's Office electronic submission of the grant application to the GOHS in the amount of $52,705. Of that amount, $37,646 is salary and $15,059 is ERE to enhance DUI enforcement throughout Gila County.
Evaluation
The Gila County Sheriff's Office was awarded GOHS Contract No. 2019-405d-015 in the amount of $25,000 of which $17,857 is for overtime salary and $7,143 is for ERE to enhance DUI/Impaired Driving enforcement throughout Gila County.
Conclusion
The Gila County Sheriff's Office has been awarded a grant (Agreement No. 2019-405d-015) from GOHS in the amount of $25,000 that will be used for overtime and ERE.
Recommendation
Gila County Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd recommends that the Board of Supervisors accept the GOHS FY2019 DUI/Impaired Enforcement Overtime Contract No. 2019-405d-015 in the amount of $25,000 for overtime and ERE of which said funds must be spent by September 30, 2019.
Suggested Motion
Authorization of the Chairman's signature on the Governor's Office of Highway Safety Contract No. 2019-405d-015 to accept grant funds in the amount of $25,000 which will be used by the Sheriff's Office for overtime and ERE to enhance DUI/Impaired Driving Enforcement.
