Reappointments to the Board of Directors of the Gila County Industrial Development Authority

Background Information

The Industrial Development Authority of the County of Gila, Arizona (IDA) is comprised of nine members. Each Supervisor recommends to the Board of Supervisors the names of three members who they would like to represent their specific Supervisorial District on the IDA Board, and the Board of Supervisors then votes on the appointment(s). The terms of office for IDA members is six years.

Tim Grier's initial term of office expired on July 15, 2019. He represents Supervisor Tommie Martin's district. Supervisor Martin has asked Mr. Grier to serve another term, to which he has agreed.

Robert Pastor's initial term of office expired on July 15, 2019. He represents Supervisor Tim Humphrey's district. Supervisor Humphrey has asked Mr. Pastor to serve another term, to which he has agreed.

M. Lisa Brazil's initial term of office will end on December 31, 2019. She also represents Supervisor Humphrey's district. Supervisor Humphrey has asked Ms. Brazil to serve another term, to which she has agreed.

Evaluation

Mr. Grier, Mr. Pastor and Ms. Brazil have agreed to serve on the IDA Board for another term of office.

Conclusion

Supervisor Martin recommends the reappointment of Mr. Grier to the IDA Board of Directors for the term of office beginning on September 17, 2019, through December 31, 2024. A one-time adjustment is being made to this term of office so that successive terms of office will begin on January 1st and end on December 31st.

Supervisor Humphrey recommends the reappointment of Mr. Pastor to the IDA Board of Directors for the term of office beginning on September 17, 2019, through December 31, 2024. A one-time adjustment is being made to this term of office so that successive terms of office will begin on January 1st and end on December 31st.

Ms. Brazil's current term of office does not expire until December 31, 2019. Supervisor Humphrey recommends the reappointment of Ms. Brazil to the IDA Board of Director for the term of office that will begin on January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2025.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors reappoint Mr. Grier, Mr. Pastor and Ms. Brazil to serve another term of office on the IDA Board of Directors.

Suggested Motion

Information/Discussion/Action to reappoint Mr. Tim Grier and Mr. Robert Pastor to the Board of Directors of The Industrial Development Authority of the County of Gila, Arizona (IDA) for a term of office to begin on September 17, 2019, through December 31, 2024 (with a one-time adjustment to the term's expiration date); and reappoint Ms. M. Lisa Brazil to said Board for a term of office to begin on January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2025. (Tim Humphrey)
