Official Canvass of the August 28, 2018, Primary Election Results.
Background Information
A Primary Election was held on August 28, 2018. In accordance with Arizona Revised Statute §16-642, the Board of Supervisors must canvass the election results and declare them to be official.
Evaluation
Arizona Revised Statute §16-642 provides that the governing body holding an election shall meet and canvass the election not less than six days nor more than twenty days following the election.

The last day to submit the canvass of the election results to the Secretary of State's Office is September 7, 2018.
Conclusion
The Primary Election was conducted in Gila County on August 28, 2018, and the Board of Supervisors is required by law to canvass the returns of the election and send a certified copy of the canvass to the Secretary of State.
Recommendation
The Elections Director recommends that the Board of Supervisors canvass the election returns for the Primary Election held, August 28, 2018, and declare the results of the election official.
Suggested Motion
Information/Discussion/Action to canvass the election results contained in the Official Canvass of the Primary Election held on August 28, 2018, in Gila County, Arizona, and declare the results official.  (Eric Mariscal)
