Termination of Arizona Department of Economic Security (ADES) Contract No. DI16-002156

Background Information

The County Attorney's Office has had a long-standing contract with ADES-Child Support for Gila County to provide child support services in Gila County. The Board of Supervisors approved the most recent contract on March 10, 2020 for the term from October 2, 2020 through October 1, 2021.

A letter was mailed to Molly Bright, Deputy Assistant Director for the Division of Child Support Services with the Arizona Department of Economic Security on August 10, 2020, regarding this termination.

Evaluation

Budget considerations.

Paragraph 3.3.2 provides: "Each party shall have the right to terminate this agreement by providing to the other party written notice of termination at least ninety (90) days prior to the effective date of said termination."

Conclusion

Bradley D. Beauchamp, Gila County Attorney, is requesting that the Board of Supervisors approve terminating the contract with ADES.

Recommendation

Mr. Beauchamp recommends that the Board of Supervisors authorize the termination of ADES Contract No. DI16-002156.

Suggested Motion

Approval to terminate Contract No. DI16-002156 with the Arizona Department of Economic Services (ADES) effective November 15, 2020, whereby the County Attorney's Office will no longer provide child support services for Gila County.
