Information
Request/Subject
Acknowledgment of the Gila County Superior Court's FY 2020 Fill the Gap Grant Award.
Background Information
On June 4, 2019, the Gila County Superior Court requested the Board of Supervisors' approval to submit a Fill the Gap Fund Grant Application to the Arizona Supreme Court, Administrative Office of the Courts, to obtain funding in the amount of $3,750 to be applied to the Superior Court's "Disconnected Scanning Program."  The Board subsequently approved the item on that date and the signed application was submitted to the Administrative Office of the Courts.
Evaluation
The FY 2020 Fill the Gap grant funds the Disconnected Scanning Program in the Justice and Magistrate Courts throughout the County.  Disconnected scanning allows those courts a greater ability to scan documents in anticipation of paperless court processes.

In order to accept the grant award, a Funding Agreement was signed by the Honorable Timothy Wright,  Presiding Judge of the Gila County Superior Court, and Anita Escobedo, Clerk of the Court.
Conclusion
A fully executed copy of the Funding Agreement is attached to this agenda item.  The Board of Supervisors should acknowledge acceptance of the grant award.
Recommendation
The Superior Court respectfully recommends that the Board acknowledge receipt of the grant award.
Suggested Motion
Acknowledgment of the FY 2020 Funding Agreement for Fill the Gap Fund in the amount of $3,750 from the Administrative Office of the Courts, on behalf of the Arizona Supreme Court, to the Gila County Superior Court to be used for the Superior Court's Disconnected Scanning Program.
