Request/Subject
The Gila County Attorney requests that the Board of Supervisors accept a Victim Assistance Grant No. VA-20-020 for fiscal year 2020 from the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission in the amount of $26,770. 
Background Information
The Gila County Attorney's Office has been receiving Victim Assistance Grants for approximately 23 years.  The money from the grant helps fund the salary of the victim witness advocate.  The grant requires a match from the County which has been budgeted in the 2020 fiscal budget.
Evaluation
The Victim Assistance grant enables the County Attorney's Office to fund the salary of a victim witness advocate.
Conclusion
Accepting the Victim Assistance Grant will enable the County Attorney's Office to continue to employ a victim witness advocate.
Recommendation
The Gila County Attorney's Office recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve the acceptance of the Victim Assistance Grant from the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission in the amount of $26,770.
Suggested Motion
Approval of Arizona Criminal Justice Commission FY 2020 Crime Victim Assistance Program Grant No. VA-20-020 in the amount of $26,770 for the period of July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2020.
