Public Hearing on the FY 2020 Gila County Tentative Budget and Adopt Resolution No. 19-08-03 to Adopt the FY 2020 Gila County Budget.

Background Information

On June 18, 2019, the Board of Supervisors adopted the FY 2020 Gila County Tentative Budget in the amount of $119,118,833.

At the time the Board of Supervisors adopted the FY 2020 Gila County Tentative Budget, it also set a public hearing for July 23, 2019, to hear taxpayers who wish to comment on the FY 2020 Gila County Tentative Budget. A notice of this public hearing was published in the July 3, 2019, and July 10, 2019, editions of the Arizona Silver Belt newspaper, the official County newspaper for 2019.

It was decided to change the public hearing date for the budget adoption from July 23, 2019, to August 6, 2019; therefore, a revised public hearing notice was published in the July 17, 2019, and July 24, 2019, editions of the Arizona Silver Belt newspaper.

Evaluation

This agenda item is scheduled as a public hearing to hear taxpayers who may wish to comment on the FY 2020 Gila County Tentative Budget. After receiving public comment, the Board needs to adopt Resolution No. 19-08-03 which adopts the FY 2020 Gila County Budget in the amount of $119,118,833.

Conclusion

Once the public hearing concludes, the Board needs to adopt Resolution No. 19-08-03, which adopts FY 2020 Gila County Budget.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors convene a public hearing to hear taxpayers who may wish to comment on the FY 2020 Gila County Tentative Budget; and adopt the FY 2020 Gila County Budget.

Suggested Motion

Convene a public hearing to hear taxpayers who may wish to comment on the FY 2020 Gila County Tentative Budget which was adopted on June 18, 2019, and on any proposed changes to the Tentative Budget; and adopt Resolution No. 19-08-03 authorizing the adoption of the FY 2020 Gila County Budget in the amount of $119,118,833.
