Gila County Community Action Program (CAP) Advisory Board Appointments
Background Information
The Gila County CAP Advisory Board consists of 9 members of which 3 members represent the public sector and are appointed by the Board of Supervisors (BOS); 3 members represent low-income citizens and they are elected by the citizens of a specific geographic low-income area, and acknowledged by the BOS; and 3 members represent the private sector and they are appointed by the CAP Advisory Board, and acknowledged by the BOS. 

Lynn Canning, a public sector representative, resigned from the CAP Advisory Board.  She represented Supervisorial District 1, which is Supervisor Tommie Martin's District.  Supervisor Martin is nominating Charles Proudfoot to fill Ms. Canning's unexpired term of office through 12/31/19. 

Annie Hinojos and Nolberto Waddell represent low-income citizens on the CAP Advisory Board.  Their terms of office expired on 12/31/17.  An election was held on 11/2/17 whereby Ms. Hinojos and Mr. Waddell were re-elected by the citizens of a specific low-income geographical area for another four-year term, from 1/1/18 to 12/31/21.  The election results were canvassed and declared official at the 11/15/17 CAP Advisory Board meeting. 

Vicky Quesada and Michael Black represent the private sector on the CAP Advisory Board.  Their terms of office expired on 12/31/17.  On 11/15/17, Ms. Quesada and Mr. Black were re-appointed by the CAP Advisory Board for another four-year term, from 1/1/18 to 12/31/21.
Evaluation
The BOS needs to consider Supervisor Martin's recommendation to appoint Charles Proudfoot to fulfill Lynn Canning's unexpired term of office through 12/31/19. 

The BOS needs to acknowledge the elections of Annie Hinojos and Nolberto Waddell for the term 1/1/18 to 12/31/21. 

The BOS needs to acknowledge the appointments of Vicky Quesada and Michael Black for the term 1//1/18 to 12/31/21.
Conclusion
The names listed above are being presented to the BOS for appointment or acknowledgement of appointment.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the BOS consider the names as presented (above) to serve on the CAP Advisory Board.
Suggested Motion
Approval to appoint Charles Proudfoot to fulfill Lynn Canning's unexpired term of office on the Community Action Program (CAP) Advisory Board through 12/31/19; acknowledge the re-elections of Annie Hinojos and Nolberto Waddell to serve on the CAP Advisory Board for the term 1/1/18 to 12/31/21; and acknowledge the re-appointments of Vicky Quesada and Michael Black to serve on the CAP Advisory Board for the term of 1/1/18 to 12/31/21.
