Intergovernmental Agreement Contract No. CTR044391 with Arizona Department of Health Services.

Background Information

This is a new grant with the Arizona Department of Health Services to develop a detailed construction plan and budget for the renovation to the new Gila County Health Department building in Payson (formerly known as the NAPA building) to accommodate a new WIC clinic and improved nutrition and breastfeeding facilities for the community.

Evaluation

The Gila County Payson WIC office is in dire need of renovating the existing building to provide services to northern participants. The renovation will allow for a much-needed improvement to an existing county owned site to make the environment a family friendly, efficient, and professional office space that can serve up to a five hundred participants per month.

Conclusion

Approval of the Intergovernmental Agreement (Contract NO. CTR044391) will allow the Gila County Health Department to contract a qualified professional services architect to design the plan and budget for the renovation of the NAPA Building into a new Gila County WIC clinic in Payson.

Recommendation

It is the recommendation of the Director of Health and Emergency Management that the Board of Supervisors approve the Intergovernmental Agreement (Contract No. CTR044391) with the Arizona Department of Health Services in the amount of $15,000 to contract with an architect to design and budget for the renovation of the NAPA Building into a new Gila County WIC clinic in Payson.
