Public Hearing to Adopt the FY 2019 Gila County Improvement Districts' Budgets

Background Information

On June 19, 2018, the Gila County Board of Supervisors adopted the FY 2019 Gila County Tentative Budget, which includes the Gila County Improvement Districts' Budgets. The Improvement Districts are: Pine Street Lighting Improvement District (SLID); East Verde SLID; Miami Gardens SLID; Apache Hills SLID; Upper Glendale SLID; Midland City/Central Heights SLID; and Claypool SLID..

When the Board of Supervisors adopted the FY 2019 Gila County Tentative Budget, it also set a public hearing for July 24, 2018, to hear taxpayers who may wish to comment on the FY 2019 Gila County Tentative Budget which includes the Improvement Districts' Budgets.

A notice of this public hearing was published in the July 6th and July 13th editions of the Payson Roundup newspaper, the official County newspaper for 2018.

Evaluation

This agenda item is scheduled as a public hearing to hear taxpayers who may wish to comment on the FY 2019 Gila County Improvement Districts' Budgets. After receiving public comment, the Boards of Directors for the Gila County Improvement Districts need to adopt the FY 2019 Budgets for the County Improvement Districts per the FY 2019 Budget Schedules entitled "Street Lighting Improvement Districts."

Conclusion

Once the public hearing concludes, the BODs need to adopt the FY 2019 Budgets for the Gila County Improvement Districts.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Boards of Directors for the Gila County Improvement Districts convene a public hearing to hear taxpayers who may wish to comment on the FY 2019 Tentative Budgets for the County Improvement Districts; and adopt the FY 2019 Budgets for County Improvement Districts per the FY 2019 Budget Schedules entitled "Street Lighting Improvement Districts."

Suggested Motion

Convene a public hearing to hear taxpayers who may wish to comment on the FY 2019 Gila County Improvement Districts' Tentative Budgets which were adopted on June 18, 2019, and on any proposed changes to the Tentative Budgets; and adopt the FY 2019 Budgets for County Improvement Districts per the FY 2019 Budget Schedules entitled "Street Lighting Improvement Districts." (Mary Springer) (Adjourn as the Board of Directors of the Improvement Districts of Gila County and reconvene as the Gila County Board of Supervisors.)
