Request/Subject

Application for a waiver of Fairgrounds' Exhibit Hall rental fees for Father Jay's Appreciation Dinner given by Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church on July 22, 2016.

Background Information

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church Parish (Parish) is part of the Tucson Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church and is a 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit organization. They are sponsoring this event that is open to the public to allow all persons in Gila County to participate in showing appreciation for Father Jay Luczak's 19 years of service to the Church and community.

Evaluation

The Parish is requesting that the Board of Supervisors waive the fees that are charged for the use of the Exhibit Hall the the County Fairgrounds for it's Appreciation Dinner for Father Jay on July 22, 2016. The event will be engaging the services of the Knights of Columbus to provide liquor for sale during the event. The Knights of Columbus will be responsible for obtaining an Event License from the State of Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control and liquor liability insurance for the event.

Conclusion

Father Jay Luczak has implemented several programs and ministries in Gila County during his tenure at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. Through the Church many citizens in Gila County have been given financial assistance throughout the years.

Recommendation

Approval of a fee-waiver request submitted by Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church Parish for Father Jay's Appreciation Dinner on July 22, 2016.
