Appointment of a Precinct Committeeman to the Gila County Republican Party.

Background Information

A.R.S. 16-821 (B) provides if a vacancy exists in the office of the precinct committeeman, the vacancy shall be filled by the Board of Supervisors from a list of names submitted by the County Chairman of the appropriate political party.

Evaluation

The Gila County Republican Committee Chairman has submitted Janell E. Sterner for appointment to the office of precinct committeeman in the Payson #3 precinct. Per statute, the Board of Supervisors has the authority to make this appointment.

Conclusion

The Gila County Republican Committee Chairman has submitted Janell E. Sterner for appointment by the Board of Supervisors to serve as a Precinct Committeeman for the Payson #3 precinct.

Recommendation

The Elections Director recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve the appointment as submitted by the Gila County Republican Committee Chairman.
