Arizona Criminal Justice Commission Drug, Gang, and Violent Crime Control Grant Agreement for FY2016 Award Cycle 29 (ACJC #DC-16-004).
Background Information
On March 20, 2015, the Gila County Sheriff's Office electronically submitted a grant application to the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission in the amount of $547,411 in order to provide continued funding for the salaries and benefits of the Gila County Sheriff's Office Drug, Gang, and Violent Crimes Task Force.

On April 21, 2015, the Board of Supervisors authorized the electronic submission of the grant application to the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission in the amount of $546, 411.
Evaluation
On June 3, 2015, the Gila County Sheriff's Office received written notification from the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission that the grant application in the requested amount of $547,411 that was submitted to the ACJC on March 20, 2015, by the Sheriff's Office has been awarded in the amount of $336,917. 
Conclusion
The Gila County Sheriff's Office has been awarded the Drug, Gang, and Violent Crime Control Grant Agreement (FY2016 Award Cycle 29-ACJC Grant No. DC-16-004) from the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission in the amount of $336,917($134,766 in federal funds, $117,921 in state funds and $84,230 in matching funds from the County's General Fund) to provide continued funding for the Gila County Drug, Gang, and Violent Crimes Task Force for the period of July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016.
Recommendation
Gila County Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve the Grant Agreement between the Gila County Sheriff's Office and the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission in the amount of $336,917 for fiscal year 2016.
