Extension of Professional Services Contract No. 022218 with Razor Thin Media for continuation of Tourism and Marketing Initiative in Gila County.
Background Information
Gila County has begun the process of a coordinated effort to promote all of the events, activities, destination sites and opportunities that exist within Gila County. The goal of this initiative is to increase tourism within Gila County which will foster economic growth in the region. This development of a tourism and marketing initiative is a multi-step process that will take time and resources to develop and realize the full potential of a tourism and marketing strategy for the entire area. This course of action is designed to enhance the promotion of communities and events that are already in process, along with providing a new opportunity for communities, organizations and businesses to feature their events, destinations and activities. This process has and will continue to rely heavily on the active engagement of stakeholders and partnerships throughout the county.
In February 2018 the County entered into a professional services contract with Razor Thin Media Services for the development of a tourism and marketing program for Gila County. The initial phase includes establishing the current market situation, describing the target audience, listing the desired marketing goals and developing the creative strategy that is designed to be used in the phases that follow.
Evaluation
A contract extension is necessary to proceed with the next phase of this project, which will include community outreach and the creation and development of content for future promotion of the region for tourism and marketing. Community Outreach will include participating on local meetings to share the marketing plan and brand strategy as well as holding community engagement meetings.  The content creation will include text, photos, and videos to capture the area attractions.  Amendment #1 to Professional Services Contract No. 022218 extends this contract for a period of one year, at a cost not to exceed $90,000, with options for additional extensions in one-year increments.
Conclusion
By approving this contract extension - “Amendment #1 to Professional Services Contract No. 022218,” the marketing and tourism initiative will continue with Phase 2 of this project in a timely manner.
