Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Contract No. 052318-2 - Law Offices of Jonathan Warshaw.

Background Information

On July 10, 2018, the Board of Supervisors approved Professional Services Contract No. 052318-2 with the Law Offices of Jonathan Warshaw, whereby Mr. Warshaw provides legal services for indigent citizens as appointed by the Superior Court in Gila County for the period beginning July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019. The original contract was executed for a not to exceed without written authorization amount of $83,757.

Evaluation

Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Contract No. 052318-2 extends the term of the contract for one additional year, from July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2020; and removes from the contract the language “ISRAEL BOYCOTT CERTIFICATION: Contractor hereby certifies that it is not currently engaged in and will not, for the duration of this agreement, engage in a boycott of Israel as required by A.R.S. § 35-393.01. Violation of this certification by Contractor may result in action by County up to and including termination of this agreement.”

Conclusion

Court Administration wishes to execute Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Contract No. 052318-2 with Jonathan Warshaw to extend the term of the contract for one additional year, from July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2020; and to remove language from the contract.

Recommendation

The Deputy Court Administrator for the Superior Court in Gila County recommends approving Amendment No. 1 to extend the term of the contract for one additional year, from July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2020, for a not to exceed without written authorization amount of $83,757; and remove language from the contract.

Suggested Motion
