Gila County Personnel Commission Appointment

Background Information

Michael Ferreira's term of office expired on December 31, 2020. He declined an invitation to be reappointed for another 4-year term of office; therefore, a vacancy exists for the new term that began on January 1, 2021, through December 31, 2024.

Christa DalMolin-East was asked to fill a vacancy that exists on the Gila County Personnel Commission and she has accepted the offer.

Evaluation

Per Arizona Revised Statute § 11-353, the Board of Supervisors appoints members to the county employee merit system commission which in Gila County is called the Personnel Commission.

Conclusion

The Board of Supervisors is the statutory appointing authority for the Gila County Personnel Commission, so it is being requested of the Board to appoint Ms. Christa DalMolin-East.

Recommendation

H.R. Department staff recommend that the Board of Supervisors appoint Ms. DalMolin-East to the Personnel Commission beginning on April 6, 2021, through December 31, 2024. (The 4-year term of office began 1/1/21.)

Suggested Motion

Approval to appoint Ms. Christa DalMolin-East to the Gila County Personnel Commission beginning April 6, 2021, through the end of the 4-year term of office ending on December 31, 2024.
